Our Pastor
Pastor Gary Lynn Clack

Rev. Gary Lynn Clack accepted his divine calling to the ministry in 2004, faithfully answering the Lord’s command to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” (Matthew 28:19 KJV). Since then, he has served with dedication as Pastor of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, preaching the uncompromised Word of God and guiding the congregation in worship, service, and spiritual growth.
📚 Education and Service
Pastor Clack’s educational journey reflects both perseverance and devotion to learning. He began at Edwards High School, a segregated school, and later graduated from Gonzales High School. After high school, he answered another call to service by joining the United States Army, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. During his military service, he pursued studies at the University of Maryland, further equipping himself for both civilian life and ministry.
Following his military career, Pastor Clack continued his education at Austin Community College and completed an Electrician course through PCDI. He later pursued higher theological studies at Nation’s University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and a Master’s degree in Theology. These experiences prepared him to rightly divide the Word of truth, as Scripture instructs: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV).
🙏 Ministry and Community
Beyond his pastoral ministry, Rev. Clack has worked with GVEC and served as a substitute teacher, demonstrating his commitment to both community service and education. Within the church, he is a gifted Sunday School teacher and leads Bible Study with clarity and depth, embodying the charge of Paul: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2 KJV).
Pastor Clack’s ministry is marked by his unwavering commitment to Scripture. On Sunday mornings, he preaches straight from the Bible, inspiring the congregation to live faithfully and walk in obedience to God’s Word. His leadership continues to strengthen Providence Missionary Baptist Church, fostering fellowship, discipleship, and service to the wider community.
